On Thursday, August 28, 2025, the Sparta Township Clerk conducted the official ballot drawing for the upcoming council election.
Two candidates are vying for a single open seat on the Sparta Township Council in the November 4, 2025 election.
Michael Sylvester secured the top ballot position.
He’s running under the slogan: “Financial Accountability and People Over Politics.”
Molly Whilesmith will appear second on the ballot, campaigning with the motto: “Experience Matters. No Mega-Warehouses.”
The seat was vacated early by Dan Chiariello.
The winning candidate will begin their term once the election is certified and serve through December 31, 2026.
