Hilltop Country Day School is set to unveil its annual Pen & Brush Exhibition on Thursday, February 20, at 6:30 PM, located at 32 Lafayette Road in Sparta, NJ.
This year's showcase, themed "Art of Independence," features student-created artwork and poetry that delve into personal interpretations of independence.
Admission is free, inviting the community to engage with the creative expressions of these young artists.
Guided by Elena Zelenina, an award-winning artist and educator, students explored the concept of independence in the context of the upcoming 250th anniversary of American independence.
Zelenina noted that while students acknowledged the historical significance, their artistic expressions became deeply personal, highlighting themes such as creative freedom, resilience, leadership, courage, faith, and friendship.
She described the collection as "a powerful look at the next generation's vision for themselves and their community."
School officials emphasized that the exhibition reflects Hilltop's mission to foster character development through contemplation, debate, and action, while nurturing student creativity.
The public is encouraged to attend and support these young artists as they present their work celebrating both national history and personal growth. |
