Sparta School Registration 2026–27

Sparta families are already looking ahead to the 2026–27 school year, as the district opens registration for kindergarten and its preschool lottery. Children who will be 5 years old on or before October 1, 2026, are eligible for kindergarten, while the preschool program accepts 3‑ and 4‑year‑olds based on clearly defined age cutoffs and space in the lottery. Registration runs from mid‑January through mid‑February, giving parents and grandparents a several‑week window to submit forms, proof of residency, and health records.

 

All students must be Sparta Township residents, and the district encourages families to complete the process early to avoid any last‑minute stress. For many readers, this may be the year a grandchild or younger relative enters the school system, making it a perfect time to share information and offer a ride to registration if needed. Sparta High School is also welcoming the next wave of students with an Eighth Grade Parent/Student Night, where rising freshmen and their families can learn about courses, clubs, and what to expect in ninth grade.
