On October 14, 2025, the Sparta Township Council unanimously approved its annual Halloween curfew resolution to ensure community safety during Mischief Night and Halloween.

According to Resolution 9-5, all minors under age 18 must be off public streets between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM on both Thursday, October 30, and Friday, October 31.

Exceptions are made for minors accompanied by a parent or guardian during curfew hours.

The curfew is part of Sparta’s long-standing effort to reduce vandalism, property damage, and unsafe behavior associated with Mischief Night.

Local law enforcement will be actively monitoring neighborhoods to enforce the curfew and maintain a safe environment for trick-or-treaters and residents.

Parents are encouraged to plan early, accompany children during evening activities, and reinforce respectful behavior.
