Sparta Township Unveils State-of-the-Art Ladder 5 Fire Truck

On October 3, 2025, the Sparta Township Fire Department proudly introduced its latest addition: Ladder 5, a cutting-edge aerial ladder truck designed to bolster emergency response efforts throughout Sussex County.

The unveiling ceremony at Sparta Fire Station 1 drew a crowd of local officials, firefighters, and community members, all eager to witness this significant enhancement to public safety.

Replacing a 1993 model, Ladder 5 boasts a 100-foot aerial ladder, increased water capacity, and advanced rescue and safety technologies.

Its design features modern LED lighting, enhanced visibility striping, and compartments tailored for rapid deployment of firefighting equipment.

The Sparta Fire Department emphasized that Ladder 5 will play a crucial role in supporting mutual aid across neighboring towns and improving response times for high-angle rescues and large-scale incidents.
