The Sparta Township approved its 2025 budget with a 2.5% tax increase. |
The Sparta Township Council voted to suspend cannabis ordinances until after the November 2025 election. This decision was made in order to allow residents to have a say in whether cannabis establishments can operate in the township. The council had previously adopted ordinances permitting the sale and consumption of cannabis in certain zones, but the vote to suspend these ordinances represents a compromise to address residents' concerns. The council will hold a public hearing in September to gather input from residents before deciding next steps. |
