At a recent council meeting, Sparta Township celebrated Michael Zingaro, naming him the 2025 Senior of the Year in recognition of his extensive community contributions. Zingaro's dedication spans decades, starting as an assistant coach in the Sparta Little League and later becoming head coach for several teams. He played a key role in the Sparta Girls Sports organization and served as Tournament Director for its inaugural School's Out Softball Tournament.
A long-time Kiwanis Club member, Zingaro has held numerous leadership positions, orchestrating vital community activities like food drives and senior picnics. He also actively supports the Salvation Army's holiday efforts and has been a committed blood donor, joining the Gallon Club for over 50 years. His unwavering commitment to service continues to enhance Sparta’s community spirit. |
