The article on The Sparta Independent website discusses the success of Operation Toy Train in setting records. The magic of Operation Toy Train shone brighter than ever this year, amassing a record-shattering 44,191 toys—the highest tally in its 16-year history!
On a single electrifying day, Saturday, December 14th, an astonishing 21,749 toys were donated—setting a new all-time high! The toy train made spirited stops in Newfoundland, Sparta, and Vernon. In Sparta alone, a whopping 2,543 toys were gathered. Newfoundland wasn't far behind with 1,160 toys, and Vernon contributed a generous 543 toys.
This year's project extended its reach farther than ever, making 52 stops across 48 cities in five states, marking the largest footprint yet. Remarkably, all but two of the returning stops outdid their previous donation records.
In a heartwarming collaboration, ten railroads teamed up to collect toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots Foundation, ensuring that countless underprivileged children receive the joy of new toys this holiday season.
All aboard the Toy Train magic! 🎁🚂
