The Sparta Public Library will be celebrating National Library Week from April 6-12, emphasizing the importance of libraries in the community.

This celebration, supported by the American Library Association, aims to showcase the significant role that libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives. During this week, the Youth Services department at the Sparta Public Library has organized two special events.

The first event is "Lunch with the Librarians" on April 8, where children aged 2-6 and their parents can enjoy pizza and dessert while engaging in conversations about books, library services, and upcoming programs.

The second event, called the "Stuffed Animal Sleepover" on April 10, invites children aged 2-5 to bring their favorite stuffed animal for a storytime session, including book readings, songs, and coloring activities.

The stuffed animals will also get to experience the library and leave with their very own library cards. In addition to these events, the Youth Services department will continue to offer its regular programs such as Lego League, Storybook Crafts, Take Home Tuesday, and Art in the A.M.

The library will also host adult classes including French, Spanish, 3D printing training, Zoom programs, Scrabble, Mahjong, and Stitch Witches. Dave Costa, the library director, expressed his excitement for National Library Week, emphasizing the positive impact that libraries have on individuals and communities.

The library staff will be showing their enthusiasm by wearing spirit wear throughout the week.
