Eva sat alone at the coffee shop, stirring her untouched latte. It had been years since she’d last seen Logan, but today, he was on his way.

She still remembered the day he broke her heart—his betrayal cutting so deep that she swore she’d never forgive him. Time had hardened her resolve, but when she received his message asking for one last chance to talk, something in her cracked.

The door swung open, and there he was. Logan hesitated before walking toward her, his expression unreadable. As he sat across from her, silence stretched between them like a canyon.

“I don’t expect you to forgive me,” Logan started, his voice quiet. “But I needed to see you. To tell you how much I regret what I did.”

Ava scoffed, shaking her head. “Regret won’t erase the past.”

“I know.” He exhaled sharply. “I’ve spent years thinking about what I did, wishing I could undo it. But I can’t. The only thing I can do is apologize. And tell you that you didn’t deserve the way I treated you.”
